ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi will soon be joining the CORD coalition as a key force ahead of the 2017 General Election
Mudavadi, according to reports, is looking to strike a political deal with Coalition of Reforms and Democracy CORD where by he’s hoping to play an important role in the coalition.Previously, it has been hinted that there was a possibility of Mudavadi being the CORD’s flagbearer since CORD’s primary aim was to send the Jubilee regime packing but that is not the case.
Leaders close to him say that they have already initiated talks with the CORD leader, Raila Odinga and that, the CORD co-principals, Kalonzo Musyoka and Moses Wetangula were duly informed. It is not clear, however, who among the three key leaders at the coalition, will be willing to sacrifice their position for the ANC leader.
Mudavadi joining the CORD’s outfit is probably a counter move to the merger that the Jubilee Alliance Party (JAP) formed in order to strengthen their fort before the election.
Rumors has it that Wiper Democratic Movement leader Kalonzo Musyoka is likely to be CORD’s flag-bearer in 2017 which is kept as a secret and a winning strategy to kick jubilee out of power. In this case,Mudavadi might be Kalonzo’s running mate.
